چکیده

Monitoring the mental workload of operators is paramount importance in space telerobotic training and other teleoperation tasks. Instead estimation task-specific workload, this article aims at investigating impact two significant confounding factors (time-pressure latency) on explored use eye-tracking technology for factor-induced performance evaluation. Ten subjects teleoperated a Canadarm2 robot to complete complex on-orbit assembly task our photo-realistic simulator while wearing head-mounted eye-tracker. To understand how time-pressure latency influence features works, we first performed statistical analysis various with respect single factor across multiple groups. Next, extracted from segment data trial used identify induced by factors, which can be developing personalized programs guaranteeing safe teleoperation. Furthermore, improve recognition using data, propose activity ratio time characterize informative segments. Finally, relationship between simulator-defined measures examined. Results show that fixation duration, saccade frequency pupil diameter, index pupillary are both

Eye Tracking Metrics for Workload Estimation in flight Deck Operation

Flight decks of the future are being enhanced through improved avionics that adapt to both aircraft and operator state. Eye tracking allows for non-invasive analysis of pilot eye movements, from which a set of metrics can be derived to effectively and reliably characterize workload. This research identifies eye tracking metrics that correlate to aircraft automation conditions, and identifies th...

Performance evaluation of a distributed telerobotic framework

In this paper we present the performance evaluation of a Distributed Component based Telerobotic Framework that implements a real-time interaction between a telrobotic client and server. The objective is to optimize delays in multistreaming of force feedback, stereo data and master-slave commands. Different scenarios are considered and statistically analyzed to relate the effect of thread manip...

Predicting space telerobotic operator training performance from human spatial ability assessment

Our goal was to determine whether existing tests of spatial ability can predict an astronaut’s qualification test performance after robotic training. Because training astronauts to be qualified robotics operators is so long and expensive, NASA is interested in tools that can predict robotics performance before training begins. Currently, the Astronaut Office does not have a validated tool to pr...

Workload Modeling for Computer Systems Performance Evaluation

Reliable performance evaluations require the use of representative workloads. This is no easy task because modern computer systems and their workloads are complex, with many interrelated attributes and complicated structures. Experts often use sophisticated mathematics to analyze and describe workload models, making these models difficult for practitioners to grasp. This book aims to close this...
